Charlotte Gaspard aka Cspot

Miss C. Gaspard is a fashion designer, filmmaker, and writer born and raised on NYC's Lower East Side. She graduated from Wesleyan university with a B.A. in Film Studies and Production, specializing in Super 8 and 16mm formats. Charlotte began her costume design career at Wesleyan University under the mentorship of Professor Leslie Weinberg, and has since designed and created costumes for a variety of theatrical productions and films. She founded C. Spot Designs in January of 2002, a Handmade Wearable Art Gear company operating out of her studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. In February 2002, she joined the Brooklyn Media Lab and has participated in the conception and execution of many BML events including TranceSpace, The General Store Multi-Media Art Party Series, the Rock Stars and Super Heroes Party, and countless Speakeasy events.


Artist's Statement:

As the director of C. Spot Designs, Miss C. is committed to the ideal of wearable art, original one-of-a-kind fashion pieces that not only complement and decorate the individual, but also bring thought provoking, evocative images and ideas onto the streets and out to the parties. In this way the art is interacting with the world rather than remaining sequestered in a gallery where only one sector of society can experience it.
