Artists Statement

Activism, individualism and humanity have not yet been assimilated into American pop culture for the purpose of being a vehicle for mass influence. This statement comes from a growing number of new American realists who exhibit contempt for convention and can no longer remain silent under the guise of complacency. The revolution will be televised only for the purpose of higher ratings. Individualism seems to be fading away. People favor blending in rather than sticking out in the crowd. Except, of course, those who want to make fools of themselves on TV. And even so, it's not like they want to sing or dance or excel at something unbelievable. They seem to enjoy being part of "reality" entertainment, where they allow a national network to set up "real-life" situations that they play a part in. Whether it's finding a boyfriend, doing extreme stunts, or surviving the wild without the comfort of modern conveniences, these blind mice subject themselves to this grand lab experiment while millions gawk dumbfounded and satiated, in-between commercials. Pass the fat-free jalapeno honey-mustard no-cholesterol twice-baked multi-grain snack crisps, please.
